Calligraphy is said to also be a temporal art. If so, then what is the difference between the memories that we take away from experiencing calligraphy and other forms of temporal art such as music and dance, which leave us with visual and auditory memories? I created this work based on the premise that the common point between lasting memories, regardless of whether they have a basis in reality, is that they are accompanied by a sense of time. I attempted to capture on paper the movements of butoh dance as passed down through the words of Tatsumi Hijikata to see if they could be formed into a coherent assemblage of trajectories.

書かれた文字はその筆跡でその書いた時間を鑑賞者と共有することができる。では音楽や踊りという視覚や聴覚の記憶との違いはなんだろうか。 実態のあるなしにかかわらず、留まる記憶の種類は時間を感じるという点で同じであると仮定し制作をした。 本作品は土方巽の舞踏、疱瘡譚の動きの書きつけである。土方巽は舞踏譜という言葉から舞踏を作っており、動きそれ自体を言葉・文字と捉え、頭や手・足の動きを追った。
